Connecting local makers and crafters with buyers

Issue 2 (23/05/21)

Our first month

Let’s take a look back at what we have achieved in the 4 weeks since Madelocal.app was launched:

  • Registered Madelocal Limited with Companies House
  • Gained 7 new sellers
  • Featured the team on social media
  • Gained 800 followers on Instagram
  • Gained 127 followers on Facebook

Shout out

We are particularly grateful to Whytehearndesigns who signed up and got in touch to let us know what is working well and what could be improved. Based on the feedback we have redesigned the + New Item process to be even more user friendly. If there is anything on the site that you think could be improved please get in touch and let us know about it. We really want to make it work for you.

Join us

Don't forget to take advantage of our early adopters offer and sign up before July 2021. With no subscription fee, unlimited free listings and payment processing fees included; you only pay a small commission when you sell. If you have an existing Etsy shop we can help you copy across your items for free. Just let us know if you need any help with setting up your account and we'd be happy to assist. What have you got to lose?

Jobs for this week

We have a growing list of jobs to complete as we get closer to the time when we can open the checkout for trading in July. We are working on a section of the site where buyers can request an item to be commissioned. This page will be visible to anyone browsing the website to attract sellers who make to order. We’ll bring you more news of this development next time.

Spread the word

Considering that 4 weeks ago no one apart from friends and family had heard about Madelocal, we now have a strong and growing support community of potential buyers and sellers on social media. This and word of mouth are the best way for people to hear about us so please continue to help spread the word about the site and share it with your friends, family and followers too #shopmadelocal @shopmadelocal
