My name is Katy and it’s my passion to make, sew and create. That’s why I started What Katy Does Best because sewing is really what I do best. I learnt to sew at a very young age and went to art college where my love of creating was expanded. I run a small soft furnishings business and have done for 25 years. Even though do enjoy making curtains etc my passion is definitely making small pretty things from the scraps of fabric left over. I love Liberty of London Tana Lawn and you will find I use it a lot in my items. I have 3 loud yet beautiful teenagers, 4 cats and 2 dogs so life can be crazy but that’s the way I like it! You will always find me in my sewing room, it’s my happy place.
