Hi 👋 My name is Sam & I’m the person behind Helianthus Crafts UK. I first started crafting in 2006 due to mental health reasons & needed something to not only keep me busy but sane. I first started out making cards, with barely any equipment I used to cut every component out by hand...fast forward 14 years & now you can get machines to do the work. Any way over the years I have dabbled in many different crafts from card making, painting, clay sculpting, knitting, crocheting, jewellery making, resin casting & vinyl projects, just to name a few. Once upon a time most of my friends & family always received a handmade item but as I repaired my mental health life started getting in the way & crafting took a back seat, except for the bespoke gifts or requests. Forward a few years & in the midst of a pandemic I have gotten back to my roots & started to concentrate more on my crafting. I struggled to come up with a unique gift for an 8 year olds birthday, after looking at many different craft kits & not finding what I had in mind, I decided to make my own from some air dry clay & cookie cutters...while making the pieces I had a sudden thought & decided I could make these kits available for more children & adults to enjoy... Now I spend most waking hours coming up with ideas of unique paint your own kits, as well as dabbling in a few more crafts.
