About KayaRama

Hi. My name is Ginette. I am often asked where the name KayaRama came from; it’s rooted in Africa, just like me and means ‘to be still in your restful place’. I'm inspired by natural beauty and try to reflect this in my ceramic creations. Each piece is unique; handbuilt with love and care to be imperfectly perfect, no mass production here! I’ve dabbled with pottery over the years, but in 2021 took a bold step, bought a kiln and started KayaRama…at the dining table. I then moved to the bottom of the garden into the shed until summer ended. I have recently commandeered our insulated lean-to, which I share with wooly scarves, welly-boots, coats and skateboards. It’s perfectly imperfect. I love the organic aesthetic of hand built ceramics as much as the process of creating each piece. Please feel welcome to browse in my shop, I hope you find something that gives you joy.
