This beautiful bud vase has been made using the drop vase glass fusing method. Strips of glass in 3 colours (one opaque, the others translucent) were cut by hand and arranged in a pattern before being fired for 10 hours to 800 degrees Celsius to create the glass blank. After cooling off for 6 hours the blank was placed in the kiln, elevated and sat on a ceramic ring. It was fired to 700 degrees Celsius to gently drop through the ring. The next day after it had cooled I cut the excess glass off the rim and gently worked the rim to a smooth finish using diamond hand pads - this was a 2.5 hour process. I have posted a video of the rim being removed on the Missy Mac Facebook page should you wish to see the process. It stands approximately 12.5cm high and is approximately 7cm at its widest point. Postage is included within the UK.
